Service Design for College Enrollment

Service Design for College Enrollment is a service system created for the enrollment period of a university. The design combines an online collaboration platform with an offline space. On the platform, staff from different departments jointly add and update the module information and statistics they are responsible for. In the offline space, tools such as journey maps support analysis, discussion and decisions. Students receive consulting services, admission reception, peer guidance and admission brochures. The aim is to improve work across departments and to reduce student anxiety.

The Book That Grew

The Book That Grew is a grazing guide created for farmers in Ireland. The book presents 10 lessons and 10 pieces of practical advice that help improve sustainability on farms. Each page, each word and each diagram was formed by real grass roots as they grew. The roots were guided over several weeks by a combination of gardening and careful craft, so the printing process was completed by nature. Complex farming processes are explained through a set of bespoke symbols, and a fold-out page lets the reader check the symbol key while reading. Closed, the book measures 29.7 by 42 centimeters.

Venous

Venous Materials is a soft interactive material that displays dynamic patterns in response to touch. The design is inspired by vein structures found in plants, leaves and the human body. Fluid moves through internal channels when pressure or deformation is applied, creating visible changes of color and pattern. Each sheet works as both a sensor and a display of tangible information. The material is made of PDMS silicone and ecoline ink, using laser engraving and manual laboratory processes. Prototypes measure from 5 by 5 centimeters to 15 by 15 centimeters.

Silicon

Silicon is a semi automatic infusion dosing system that controls the flow rate and the duration of intravenous medication. A mechanical timer and a flow rate valve are placed above and below the infusion tube, so medical staff can set the required drip rate and time without mental calculation. When the dose is complete, the valve switches to a physiological saline mode and the injection continues, which reduces the risk of errors during busy periods. Silicon needs no electricity and can therefore serve areas with limited medical resources.

By using a tape measure, is positioned on patient's umbilicus, effectively avoiding the area around the umbilicus that is not supposed to get injection. It can be pulled out for certain distances and angles based on how many days or time of injection, helps to remember whether to inject insulin on time.
